In high-voltage (HV) and extra-high-voltage (EHV) cable manufacturing, applying a high-performance semi-conductive tape directly around the stranded conductor is a foundational requirement. These specialised tapes—known as conductor binders or conductor separators—are critical for mitigating electrical stress, protecting the core, and ensuring long-term insulation integrity.

Minimised Pinholes:
Utilising a base of tightly woven nylon or polyester fabric finished with a consistent semi-conductive coating, these tapes minimise pinholes to prevent extrusion compound penetration during processing. 

Excellent Conformability:
The soft, pliable structure allows the tape to conform closely to the conductor profile, maintaining stable wrapping conditions during high-speed production. 

Low surface resistance and volume resistance:
Maintains continuous electrical contact to establish a uniform potential boundary. This prevents localized electric field concentrations (stress points) and eliminates charge accumulation in air gaps at the interface. 

High Coating Stability:
The semi-conductive coating retains its structural and electrical integrity when subjected to high temperatures and pressures during manufacturing. 

High Tensile Strength:
Delivers a rated tensile strength of up to 330 N/cm. This prevents tearing on high-speed wrapping lines and provides the necessary binding force required to firmly secure large-diameter conductors. 

Versatile Thicknesses:
Available in thicknesses of 0.10mm, 0.14mm, 0.18mm, and 0.20mm) to meet different conductor size requirements and design specifications.
